Our resident English coach–Teacher Erin–graducated cum laude with a degree in Speech Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman and is currently working on a master’s degree in English Studies, major in Language, also in UP Diliman’s College of Arts and Letters. She has over 6 years of experience teaching Speech Communication and English to both Filipino and foreign college students at the University of the Philippines, Pampanga. Teacher Erin is also a KBP-licensed broadcaster and has over 5 years of radio broadcasting experience. Handpicked by her Radio Speech professor, she began her broadcasting career as a health and beauty program host on DZAR Angel Radyo 1026. She later became a DJ and talkshow host on the Pampanga-based station RW95.1 FM.
As an English language major, Teacher Erin has attended international conferences and learned from the world’s foremost linguistic experts like Dr. Andy Kirkpatrick and Dr. Kingsley Bolton. A lover of literature, she also studied comparative literature and creative writing in English under some of the most prominent literary figures in the country.
Teacher Erin is an experienced writer of learning modules for both young and adult learners. Aside from her role as consultant for curriculum development for World English Reviews , 2009 Consumers Choice Awardee for Outstanding English and IELTS Review Program, she is also Content Manager for I-Learn English, a set of computer-based English proficiency modules for public high school students in the Philippines. I-Learn is a priority project of the Office of the President’s Commission on Information & Communications Technology, in partnership with Aklan State University.
